A weekend in the Otways

Although we’ve been home most of the time and are still looking after Mickey and Maddie a couple of days a week, we have had a couple of short escapes.

The first was to my sister and brother-in-law’s beautiful hideaway in the Otways, a couple of hours’ drive west of Melbourne. It’s beautifully located in the bush set among the trees and has all mod cons. The back veranda is a glorious suntrap and the wood heater inside makes it very cosy on a cold winter’s night.

We spent our time relaxing, exploring the bush, watching the birds, enjoying the sunshine, fixing the veggie patch, attempting a rather large jigsaw puzzle and generally pottering or lazing about – a very pleasant break indeed, many thanks Mech and Pete!
